Twelve people sustained gunshot wounds during the Piper Arms pub shooting in Toronto's Scarborough district which started the citywide search for the perpetrator on March 7 2025.
The attack took place at 10:39 p.m. at Progress Avenue and Corporate Drive. Local Toronto hospital staff received six victims who sustained gunshot injuries but medical professionals declared all wounds non-life-threatening. The other victims obtained their injuries from shattered glass during the disturbance following the attack.
The attackers approached the pub wearing masks while carrying both an assault rifle and several pistols and started shooting without discrimination. A man in black balaclava coverage was observed escaping the shooting scene inside a silver vehicle. The authorities continue their fullest efforts to catch the unidentified suspects who have yet to be apprehended.
Toronto Mayor Olivia Chow deepened her concern about the incident by connecting with Police Chief Myron Demkiw to receive assurance about the extent of resource deployment for the shooting investigation. Many customers filled The Piper Arms pub with their presence during the time of the attack. Video surveillance cameras showed customers running and hiding for protection before trying to escape the building. Emergency services arrived swiftly to give medical care then established security presence at the scene.
